Parades, fireworks and parties: Your guide to July 4th in St. Louis (2024)

This Fourth of July, Celebrate St. Louis brings back the biggest celebration in town.

Organizers consolidated the city's annual parade and Fair St. Louis into Celebrate St. Louis earlier this year. The majority volunteer-run event is sponsored by private donations. The festivities themselves, which take place over the course of a single day, include concerts, vendors, performances and fireworks.

For America’s 248th birthday, the celebration kicks off when the Misty Blues All-Female Skydiving Team takes its first jump at 10 a.m.Planned events for the day include:

“I hope families really enjoy getting to see their city and seeing all the organizations that are involved, and getting some great family time,” Tim Meers, general chairman of Celebrate St. Louis, says.

In addition to their annual Independence Day festivities, Celebrate St. Louis produces year-round events, such as the Gateway Legends Tournament esports tournament.

“There is something for everyone,” Meers says. “I’m most excited about showing off all of the elements that the community has historically been a part of.”

St. Louis offers countless ways to celebrate July Fourth. Below is a selection of parades, fireworks, concerts and other events happening across the St. Louis area on the most patriotic day of the year.

ART Bar

The “Red, Arts & Blue Party” gives attendees a view of the Arch and the fireworks beside it — 13 stories in the sky. Reservations include food, beverage and live music from DJ Epic. Guests must purchase a table online.

Bridgeton

The celebration will kick off with a morning parade, and an evening filled with concessions, fireworks and live music by the Breakdown Shakedown. Attendees are welcome to bring their own food and beverage, but there will be food trucks offering everything from Mexican fare to mini doughnuts and kettle corn.

Chesterfield

Enjoy food trucks, pony rides, inflatables, circus acts, a petting zoo, and a Kids Zone for families. Lawn chairs, blankets, food, and beverages are allowed, but no glass or tobacco products. Fat Pocket performs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., followed by a firework display.

Edwardsville

Lounge in the scenic 50-acre hilltop and enjoy food trucks, live music, bourbon and wine tasting, and drink specials. The firework showkicks off at dusk.

Ellisville

Celebrate America’s birthday with barbecue and a Griffin and the Gargoyles Concert.The night will wrap up with a fireworks show that starts at 9:15 p.m. A limited number of parking passes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for Ellisville Residents, that can be obtained either online or in-person.

Eureka

Enjoy family time in the park with food trucks and live music by local band the Tailgators. A fireworks display choreographed to music will begin at 9:15 p.m. Coolers, picnic blankets and chairs are welcome, but leave any glass bottles at home.

Ferguson

The party kicks off with a morning parade at 10 a.m. sharp, followed by a Family Fun Festival with inflatables, music and food. Try to arrive early and get a good spot. The fireworks spectacular will begin right at dusk, at about 9:15 p.m.

Florissant

The celebration includes live music, food trucks, free footballs and free parking. A fireworks show starts at about 9:15 p.m.

Godfrey

Enjoy fun family activities, including face painting, balloon art, watermelon eating contests, a dunk tank and food trucks. The fireworks display will begin at 9:15 p.m. Reach out to the Godfrey office for volunteer or vendor opportunities.

Granite City

The “Patriots in the Park” celebration entails two-days of America-themed festivities. On the Fourth, expect food trucks and musical entertainment by Tess Boyer Schenk, Katie Hubbard and Jonathan Cane from the Journey. The firework show begins at 9:15 p.m. On Saturday, observe or participate in a 5K, 9 a.m. car show and vendor fair, and a softball tournament that afternoon.

Hillsboro

Bring coolers, lawn chairs and picnic blankets to enjoy the fireworks show at dusk. Leave your pets at home.

Innsbrook

Watch the fireworks crack over Lake Aspen. The Premier Patriotic Party brings live entertainment and an exclusive dining buffet. Seating is limited, so reserve a spot as soon as possible.

JB Blast

Enjoy live music, food trucks and fireworks at Jefferson Barracks Park. The fireworks show will begin at 9:15 p.m. Feel free to bring blankets, picnic baskets and coolers.

Kirkwood

A celebration for all ages, the “Freedom Festival” will include food trucks and live music that starts at 7 p.m. When the sun sets, the fireworks begin.

Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton

The hotel will open its pool deck for guests to laze in the water with food, co*cktails and live music. For the attendees who don’t like to swim, the new bocce ball court is ready for business.

Manchester

Bring a blanket and lawn chair to see a concert by Butchwax & the Hollywoods, followed by a fireworks display at dark. Food and beer sales will be available until 9 p.m.

Mascoutah

This “Annual Old Fashioned July 4th Celebration” includes carnival rides, bounce houses, food and drinks, and a foam party from 4 to 6 p.m. The festivities feature music by White Collar Recession and USAF Rock Band, and fireworks that begin at 9:30 p.m.

O’Fallon, Mo.

This Heritage & Freedom Fest brings a four-day experience with a carnival, parade, fireworks, and a series of country and rock concerts, starring musicians such as Bret Michaels and Mitchell Tenpenny. The event also hosts activities for kids, like the dinosaur-themed Fossil Zone that includes hands-on educational activities.

St. Charles

The Riverfest festival includes live music, food and drinks, children’s activities and a carnival. The parade passes through Frenchtown and the historic Main Street. Count on fireworks for both nights.

Sauget

Celebrate America’s birthday with one of its most long standing traditions: a good ‘ole game of baseball. Enjoy a hot dog and beer as you watch the Gateway Grizzlies face off with the New England Knockouts. The celebratory twist? A postgame display of fireworks.

360 STL

Enjoy food and beverages with live DJ entertainment and a Glow Party atmosphere. The event is for ages 21+ only, and reservations must be made by July 2.

Six Flags St. Louis

The park will be decorated in red, white and blue in celebration. Enjoy amusem*nt park rides, music and nightly fireworks at 9:05 pm.

Troy, Mo.

The Troy Rotary brings you food, music and fireworks. Can’t make it? That’s OK. Tune into KYRO 1280AM/105.3FM for coverage.

Webster Groves

If you have a pet – dog, cat, pig, chicken, iguana, any that is not a wild animal – it qualifies for the Pet Parade on July 3, where they have the opportunity to win an award for Best Trick, Pet/Owner Look-Alike, or Best Float. On July 4, enjoy the two-mile Community Days Parade, with fireworks at 9:15 p.m. that night.

Weldon Spring

Expect an evening of food trucks, inflatables, fireworks and a bubble foam party. The kids zone includes bounces houses and a magic show. For the main event, listen to live music and watch the fireworks extravaganza that starts at 9:15 p.m.

Wentzville

Stretching from the Wentzville Ice Arena to Allen Street, the parade shows off this year’s theme, “America’s Celebration.” To participate, register to bring a float for $10, and get designing. Enjoy a refreshing swim at the pool, and bring a chair for fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Westport Plaza

This Independence Day bash includes live music, a pie eating contest, magic shows, caricatures and face painting. Drinks and concessions will be available throughout the night. The fireworks finale begins at 9 p.m.
